A. A hard news story has a lot more quotes from interviewed people. A hard news story does not have a direct opinion from the author, it has more facts. Finally, a hard news story has a real-life photo, not an art piece.
B. I think there were less photos because this was less of a news story and more of opinions, and you can't depict opinions very well with real-life photos.
C. New laws/policies, Controversies, and the presidential race/election, especially if there was a person writing for the major sides.
